Mediation offers a compassionate and effective avenue for separating couples to navigate the often complex and emotionally charged process of dissolution. When relationships come to an end, whether through divorce or separation, the impact on both individuals and their families can be profound. Mediation for separating couples provides a supportive and neutral platform in which partners can engage in open and constructive dialogue, addressing critical issues such as asset division, child custody, and financial matters. Facilitated by a skilled mediator, this process empowers couples to make informed decisions that align with their unique circumstances, ensuring a smoother transition to the next chapter of their lives. Through mediation, separating couples can find common ground, reduce conflict, and forge mutually acceptable agreements, thereby promoting a more amicable and less adversarial separation experience.

Pre-Mediation Intro Meeting [Free]: We meet initially each party separately or together on zoom or in person, as you prefer. The purpose of this session is to introduce ourselves and see if it's a good fit for us to work together. If you decide you'd like to go ahead, I will draft up the meditation agreement, terms of operation and fees.
Agreement Exploratory Session: Next we have an agreement exploratory session during which each party has the opportunity to say their individual needs and wishes. As a mediator, I will seek to understand and explore the situation from different viewpoints. We explore the possibilities with the goal to helping the parties to reach a settlement.
Financial Disclosure Session: During this session we discuss the marital assets such as the family home, other properties, income, pensions etc. By the end of this session, we aim to have financial schedules that the parties can use in court proceedings. These financial disclosure schedules are essential documentation for a divorce.
Future Planning Session: During this session, we discuss living arrangements going forward and agreements around children. We also use the information gathered during the Financial Disclosure session to agree the financial decisions going forward
As a result of our work together, you will receive:
Separation Agreement will be drawn up. This is a legally binding document which the parties can then bring to their individual solicitors to sign. This document is essential for moving forward with divorce proceedings.
Mediation Settlement will be drawn up. This can be used as a basis for Consent Orders which each party can bring to their solicitor. This document assists the judge in making a decision on the divorce.
Divorce Consent Terms will be drafted.
